Evaluation

Community Renewal International is currently designing a comprehensive evaluation to measure immediate and quantifiable quality of life metrics from a 2009 baseline of function/dysfunction. This evaluation will provide the information necessary to both the short term and long term to show that social science can develop into an effective "social technology" of growing a sustainable human environment.

We are developing this evaluation capability through the design of a fully comprehensive extent of impact, level of change and trend measurement tool that covers major indicator areas such as reduction of risk factors and increase of protective factors in individuals, families and neighborhoods. Risk factors and protective factors that we will be tracking include:

  • Educational attainment
  • Level of poverty
  • Incidence of reported crime
  • Community events and public spaces
  • Civic engagement

Community Renewal International has partnered with the following individuals and groups in the design and monitoring of our evaluation metric:

  • Joe Wiese of the Southwest Prevention Center of the University of Oklahoma
  • Centenary College, Shreveport, LA
  • Dr. Robert Landry (nationally recognized consultant related to community initiatives)
  • Consortium for Education, Research and Technology of North Louisiana (C.E.R.T.)
  • Terrorism and Disaster Center at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (Community Resiliency Department)
