Volunteers needed to build Community Renewal playground
For release: Oct. 10, 2007
Volunteers are needed to help build a KaBOOM! playground with Shreveport-Bossier Community Renewal on Thursday, Oct. 25. The playground will be built next to the Queensborough Friendship House.
Country music superstars Brooks & Dunn chose Community Renewal to receive the playground as part of the Academy of Country Music/The Home Depot Humanitarian Award they received this year. Brooks & Dunn will be at the site part of the day to help with the construction.
KaBOOM! is a national nonprofit which has constructed nearly 1,000 new playgrounds, skate parks, sports fields and ice rinks across North America.
Volunteers are asked to work 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. No experience is required. Contact Lynn Bryan at 425-3222 or firstname.lastname@example.org to volunteer or to get more information.
