Volunteers

The mission of Community Renewal International depends on hundreds of generous volunteers sharing their gifts and talents. Individuals often minimize the impact they can make in another person’s life. But when hundreds of people come together with one goal of genuine community renewal, lives, neighborhoods and cities can all be changed in a positive way. If you have a heart to serve, we are committed to helping you match your area of interest with needs in the community. No donation of time is too small. Just know that you will be rewarded as you reach out to others: Our volunteers often say they receive more than they could ever give.

A word from Lynn Bryan, director of volunteers

As you consider volunteer opportunities in the community, let me invite you to join with us on a great journey at Community Renewal International. With the help of hundreds of volunteers, we see many great things happening in our cities – and in ourselves as well. When you give your time and talent to invest in another person’s life, you receive rewards that money cannot buy.  

There are many ways to help. A large number of our volunteers like to work with our Friendship Houses in one of our target neighborhoods. There are opportunities to assist students by tutoring or mentoring. Our Adult Renewal Academy needs men and women to work with adults seeking their GED or learning job skills.  Special events are always fun and exciting ways to volunteer: Our annual Croquet Classic and the Community Renewal booth at the Red River Revel arts festival are almost solely run by volunteers.

We would also invite you to attend an orientation session to determine where your interest and availability may best fit into the CRI model.
